“At the the risk of sounding unreasonable, we’ve never been 100 percent satisfied with a new haircut. All the artful slicing and strategic layering in the world can’t endow our baby-fine hair with the fullness we crave. So when we walked into this quirky downtown salon and saw its exposed pipes and kitschy wall art, we steeled ourselves for disappointment. But McGovern surprised us from the start. Rather than suggest cutting our shoulder-length hair into a joyless bob- if only we had a dime for every time we’ve heard that solution- she evened out our wispy ends, then pumped up our pin-straight texture with delicate angles in front. Our new style didn’t just have body and shape: It was easily the best cut we’d ever received.”
